Why consider facial rejuvenation?
These days, taking care of our bodies isn’t easy. Jam packed schedules, lack of exercise, an unbalanced diet, lack of adequate rest and other stress-related factors lead to an overall unhealthy lifestyle. Premature aging, such as the appearance of jowls, frown lines and wrinkles, plagues many people. Although some surgeries promise to help overcome these symptoms, they are often hazardous, extensive and expensive. Fortunately, Lifestyle Lift® has changed everything. It’s a revolutionary procedure for a new generation.

People who are troubled by premature aging and other cosmetic problems can take a step toward dramatically improving these issues. Lifestyle Lift is a safe, affordable and quick procedure developed by Dr. David Kent in 2001. It is an alternative to traditional facelifts and overcomes major issues that these procedures present. It makes use of only local (instead of general) anesthesia, making it a safer, quicker approach. People who have undergone the procedure can get back to their normal routines quickly, in stark contrast to traditional surgery, which requires a recovery period ranging from a few weeks to a few months.

Performed exclusively by a Lifestyle Lift surgeon, it is designed to improve sagging jowls, frown lines, wrinkles and loose skin on the face and neck. It was created as a more efficientand easier way to address these concerns than a more extensive procedure.

While most patients are in their 40s to 60s, the astounding results of the Lifestyle Lift are not age-related. So if you are considering reducing the signs of aging through a facelift or plastic surgery, you may be better off getting a Lifestyle Lift.

What is the Lifestyle Lift?

The Lifestyle Lift is a minimally invasive facelift procedure that delivers maximum results. Designed to fit active lifestyles, the procedure takes about an hour. With more than 100,000 successful procedures, three major advantages of the Lifestyle Lift over a traditional facelift have become clear:

1. The Lifestyle Lift can be comfortably performed under local anesthesia, therefore avoiding the drawbacks and risks of general anesthesia.

2. Recovery time following the procedure is quick, with minimal discomfort, swelling and bruising. The Lifestyle Lift is less invasive than a traditional facelift, so many patients return to work after only a few days instead of longer.

3. The Lifestyle Lift is more affordable.

What does the Lifestyle Lift do?

When people reach their 40s, gravity, heredity, sun exposure and the stresses of daily life begin to affect their faces. The jawline grows slack and jowls begin to form. Fatty deposits and loose skin begin to appear in the lower face and neck. Creases form between the nose and mouth.

These changes combine to make people look older than they feel. The Lifestyle Lift can improve these visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles and tightening and smoothing skin on the face and neck. The procedure restores the jawline and neck, quickly removes wrinkles and sagging skin and dramatically creates a more youthful appearance. Many patients see and feel the improvement before they leave the office!

The Lifestyle Lift can do great things to enhance your appearance and your self-confidence. The procedure can be performed alone or with eyelid tightening procedures (blepharoplasty). These procedures help reduce the signs of aging around the eyes. Together, they can be potent tools to help restore your appearance. These procedures are the only ones performed at Lifestyle Lift™ centers.

How long has this procedure been performed?

Facelift procedures have been performed safely for more than 50 years. The Lifestyle Lift was introduced in 2001 as a breakthrough alternative to the traditional, more invasive types of facelifts.

Recently, there has been a trend in all of medicine to move away from extensive, long and involved procedures (such as a traditional facelift) toward simpler, quicker and safer procedures (such as the Lifestyle Lift). By concentrating exclusively on the Lifestyle Lift, our doctors have become the country’s experts with this procedure. They have performed more than 100,000 procedures at Lifestyle Lift centers around the country!

Who are the best candidates for the Lifestyle Lift?

Almost anybody can have a Lifestyle Lift. The Lifestyle Lift is meant for anyone who experiences premature aging. The best candidates for the Lifestyle Lift are men and women who have begun to see the signs of aging in their faces, from sagging skin and jowls, to looseness in the neck, etc. While most patients are in their 40s to 60s, the procedure can be done safely in people who are in their 70s and 80s, who are in good health.

Thorough medical histories are obtained by the Lifestyle Lift staff. Patients with chronic medical problems, well controlled with medication, may also be candidates for the Lifestyle Lift. If there are any concerns about your health, Lifestyle Lift will consult with your family physician to make certain that proceeding is medically safe.

Is anyone NOT a candidate for the Lifestyle Lift?

Not every patient is a good candidate for the Lifestyle Lift. Only the consultation can determine the candidacy for this innovative procedure.

Although most patients benefit significantly from the Lifestyle Lift, some may require a traditional facelift or neck lift to achieve the desired result. Therefore, the Lifestyle Lift does not replace the traditional facelift but is an additional option in the spectrum of rejuvenation procedures.

Other patients may be better served with even smaller office procedures, such as wrinkle and skin filler treaents, or skin rejuvenation treaents.

Is the Lifestyle Lift safe?

Lifestyle Lift has safely performed tens of thousands of procedures annually since 2001. The statistics support the fact that it is an extremely safe procedure with few risks or complications. However, any surgical procedure carries some uncertainties and risks. The staff and physicians will carefully discuss these minor risks with you, answering all of your questions and concerns.

Where is the Lifestyle Lift performed?

The procedure is performed in a specially equipped procedure suite within the Lifestyle Lift center. The aosphere is relaxed and professional. They use only state-of-the-art medical, sterilization, and safety equipment and techniques. The procedure is done with the patient on a comfortable reclining-type of chair. Usually, soft music is playing and every effort is made for patients to feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible.

What anesthesia is used for the Lifestyle Lift?

Your safety is the No. 1 concern. By using local anesthesia, the area is numb and no discomfort is felt during the procedure.  This method of anesthesia has been used in more than 100,000 cases with great success.

A mild sedative can be administered for patients who are nervous. Patients who wish to have this sedative must have someone present to drive them home afterward.

Who performs my Lifestyle Lift?

The procedure is performed exclusively by highly skilled and expertly qualified doctors. Each surgeon has an extensive background in Facial Plastic Surgery and is individually selected by Dr. David M. Kent. Safety record, training, demeanor and board certification are all taken into account before a doctor is selected.

Selected doctors then undergo highly specialized training in the Lifestyle Lift. Since the doctors have just one focus, the Lifestyle Lift, they have become the country’s experts in facial rejuvenation. Nowhere else will you find doctors more dedicated to excellence and your well-being than this group of specialists. Be assured that you are in the safest and best of hands.

How is the Lifestyle Lift performed?

You will arrive at the center at a time assigned to you. A Lifestyle Lift professional will take care of necessary financial and paperwork items, including an informed consent. Then that person will prepare you for the procedure. Your doctor will then review the procedure and answer any remaining questions. Local anesthetic will be administered. After that, the procedure will take place, lasting from one to two hours (depending on what is scheduled to be done).

You should not feel any discomfort during the procedure. You are safe, awake and relaxed. At the conclusion of the procedure, the surgical tech will clean the operative areas and apply small bandages called Steri-Strips. The tech will also allow you to look in the mirror to see the new you! At this time, post-operative instructions and medications will be reviewed, and you’ll be provided a detailed instruction sheet.

What happens after my Lifestyle Lift?

After your procedure, a Lifestyle Lift professional will review your post-operative instructions with you, as outlined above. Most people benefit from taking it easy the rest of the day. Applying ice or cold compresses to affected areas and keeping your head elevated will help reduce swelling and bruising. Specific instructions for care will be provided. Medications will be prescribed by your doctor for relief of discomfort and to reduce the risk of infection.

You may shower and wash your hair the day following your procedure. You may wear makeup, but must avoid getting it near the incision lines. If you feel up to it, you may return to work. Most patients will experience some swelling and bruising, and prefer to take a few days off from their activities. You should refrain from heavy activities, including bending, lifting, etc., until your sutures have been removed. Common sense will dictate when normal activities can resume.

What if I have additional questions before my procedure?

Please call the office at any time with any questions. Educated patients do well before, during and after the procedure. Most questions can be answered over the phone. If you would like to speak to your physician again, for any reason, please call and arrange another consultation. Please do not hesitate to call for any reason.

Are there other procedures just like the Lifestyle Lift?

No. The Lifestyle Lift is not a “mini-facelift” or “S-lift” but provides lasting results for years to come. The longevity is ensured in part by special, permanent sutures placed in strategic locations to hold the muscle layer underneath the skin.

The Lifestyle Lift is also not a “thread lift” because results of the Lifestyle Lift are more remarkable and longer-lasting. One of the advantages is that excess skin can be trimmed after the underlying, deeper tissues have been lifted.

Lifestyle LiftComplaints

You've read about and seen all of the incredible results and experiences that nearly 100,000 Lifestyle Liftpatients have enjoyed. On occasion, though, we do hear of some minor complaints regarding the Lifestyle Lift.
To help make sure that all of the information is provided, here are some of the most common Lifestyle Lift problems and complaints that our patients share:

There is no Lifestyle Lift center in my hometown.

Our centers are located in all regions of the country and in nearly 20 states in an effort to ensure that everyone has a Lifestyle Lift center near them. However, we do occasionally hear of someone complaining about a two- or three-hour drive to the nearest center. With the growing popularity of the successful Lifestyle Lift procedure, new centers are opening in additional cities across the country.

My doctor said I am not a good candidate for the procedure.

Occasionally during a free consultation, our Lifestyle Lift physicians encounter patients who are not good candidates for the procedure. Serious health factors and major illnesses may prevent our doctors from recommending a client for the procedure. While it is extremely rare for this problem to occur, when it does, it is done so in clients’ best health and safety interest. While a handful of patients may lodge a complaint about the policy, most will recognize it as a testament to our dedication to safety and patient care. Elective procedures are not worth a serious health risk!

I had to wait a month to have the Lifestyle Lift.

Waiting is one of the most common complaints, and it stems from the excitement that is buzzing across the country regarding the Lifestyle Lift. Nearly 100,000 Americans have chosen the Lifestyle Lift to date, and because we want to ensure that each patient gets the full attention of their doctor and professional staff on the day of their procedure, care is taken not to overbook our centers. This sometimes leads to a short waiting period between your free consultation and your procedure. While the wait may be a few weeks to a month, please keep in mind that the results will change your lifestyle for decades to come!

Lifestyle Liftmyths

Thanks to sun exposure and the stresses of life, people start developing wrinkles in and around the face and neck with each passing year. Dr. David Kent created the Lifestyle Lift to help rejuvenate the jawline and neck, remove facial frown line and wrinkles, giving each client a natural, more youthful appearance.

The Lifestyle Lift is a very popular procedure that gives maximum results with minimum discomfort and recovery time. Despite of all the benefits, there are a few people who are apprehensive about the procedure because of certain doubts or misunderstandings.

Here are several clarifications about this safe and easy procedure:

Myth: The Lifestyle Lift is just like an S-lift, mini facelift or thread lift.

Fact: Many people consider Lifestyle Lift to be an S-lift or mini facelift, but it should not be confused with these procedures, which provide fewer results that last for a shorter time. Lifestyle Lift provides dramatic, lasting results that show on your face for years to come. The longevity of the Lifestyle Lift is ensured by permanent sutures that are placed in key locations to hold the muscle layer beneath the skin.

The Lifestyle Lift must not be confused with a thread lift, either, which affords less-than remarkable and short-lived results. One of the main advantages of Lifestyle Lift is that extra skin can be removed after underlying, deeper tissue is lifted.

Myth: The Lifestyle Lift is just like other facelifts with a long recovery period.

Fact: Everybody experiences discomfort and recovery differently. However, as a general rule, traditional facelifts use general anesthesia, which can take weeks and sometimes even months for recovery. The Lifestyle Lift uses local anesthesia, so there is no chance of complications that may arise by the use of general anesthesia and lengthen recovery time. In addition, since the Lifestyle Lift is minimally invasive and only takes an hour or so to perform, recovery takes less time than for an extensive facelift.
